FOGSI East Zonal Conference with Yuva 2026 Concludes Successfully in Bodhgaya

The three-day medical mahakumbh — "FOGSI East Zonal Conference with Yuva 2026" — concluded on Sunday in Bodhgaya. The closing ceremony saw the convergence of doctors from across the nation, with over 45 societies and physicians from more than 10 states participating, making it a landmark event in women's healthcare.

National Recognition

National President of FOGSI, Dr. Bhaskar Pal, praised Bodhgaya's hosting and called this an "historic milestone" in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. Vice President Dr. Abha Rani Sinha, Joint Secretary Dr. Soma Dutta, and National Coordinator Dr. Basav Mukherjee jointly stated that this was the first time the Magadh Obstetric & Gynaecological Society hosted this zonal-level event, setting new benchmarks for success.

Record Participation

The conference's biggest achievement was the record participation of post-graduate students:

• Over 110 PG students presented poster presentations
• More than 90 students delivered free papers
• The entire process was managed through an online system, showcasing Bodhgaya's modernity and digital progress on the national stage

Lifetime Achievement Awards

During the conference, 13 luminaries were honoured with "Lifetime Achievement Awards", recognizing their lifelong contributions to women's health and medical sciences.

Organizing Committee

Organizing Chairperson Dr. Ramadhar Tiwari took a pledge to take women's health to new heights. Organizing Secretary Dr. Reena Kumari and Dr. Sunita Sharma managed the event, various workshops, and team coordination — which was recognized as the biggest achievement of the organizing team.
